“Bellemilia” is a journey through the province and the Emilian outskirts, exploring the so-called non-places: anonymous landscapes, forgotten gas stations. Non-places are not the opposite of places, nor do they cease to exist; rather, they challenge our ability to describe them, as they lack a clear and shared meaning. These spaces leave an imprint on our minds through a few key details. They are territories that belong to everyone and no one, filled with small, elusive stories that resist interpretation yet subtly alter our way of seeing. These places persist paradoxically—where nothing ever happens, anything can.
